Hosting an Annual Conference

Conference Participation

The Host working closely with the Secretariat extends the Conference invitation to IAPTC members using all available means to promote the event, including the membership list, internet, national embassies in the host country, UN delegations, other peacekeeping networks (police, civilian and military) and regional organizations. While it is participants’ responsibility to apply for the entry visa in due time, the Host should make necessary arrangements to facilitate the visa acquisition process, including by sending personalized letters of invitations. The Host (and the Secretariat) is expected to keep the Executive Committee informed of progress regarding anticipated participation in the annual conference.

Notwithstanding the host financial obligations under item 15., conference participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the host country, including payment of their hotel accommodation and meals not provided as part of the conference programme.

The International Association of Peacekeeping Training Centres (IAPTC) is an open and voluntary association of centres, institutions, and programs dealing with peace operations research, education, and training. It was initiated by Canada’s Pearson Peacekeeping Center (PPC) in 1995.
